Q: I don't know why guys "think" a survival longarm is of value in the Lower 48 states? Unless its WROL, when you need a true fighting rifle. At night, you can almost always see lights from a tall hill or tree. Mark the direction, walk there in the next day or 2, You will not starve in a week of hard pushing, or a month of just lying around. 4-7 lbs of longarm will make no difference in that time. one lb of pocket pistol might, but .22 rifles and shotguns won't. If you are injured/hurt, how will a longarm help? Better figure on just maintaining a smoky fire as much as possible during the day. In day, at most 3 days, somebody will come to check on that fire, and there's your rescue.

Q: How does this site determine your points? I'm not really all that concerned about it, but I've left plenty of comments and answers since registering and my point total is still just 60. (Field and Stream gives you fifty points per comment.) I'm asking here because the site's "More About Points ..." page just gives an overview that doesn't really tell you much.
