Welcome to OL Survival - 3

Welcome to Outdoor Life Survival, a new website dedicated to teaching you how to survive anything—anywhere, anytime.

OL Survival is a new web site where you’ll find the most comprehensive survival information anywhere on the Web. With the outdoors at its core, you’ll find a rich selection of tips and tutorials under our Wilderness channel to take you into the wilds and back again safely. But OL Survival offers much more.

Urban Survival:  Here you'll find a host of helpful tips—all centered on survival situations that you should be prepared for, whether you’re at home or commuting to work. From what to do if you lose power in an ice storm to how to avoid getting mugged, our urban survival tips are designed to keep you and your family safe.

Conflict Survival: Go here to discover the latest worldwide survival stories and what you should do if you find yourself in the midst of a political conflict, an airport shutdown, a terrorist attack or some other threatening situation.

Disasters: This section will not only keep you up to the minute on the latest breaking natural disaster stories, but it will be filled with tips to teach you what to do if you find yourself in the path of an approaching hurricane, rocking in an earthquake or faced with a tsunami warning. We’ll also teach you what you need to know to survive the aftermath of any disaster.

Gear: Having the right gear is also key in any survival situation. Our gear section on OL Survival is filled with helpful reviews and field-tested gear that you can rely on no matter what. From how to choose the right survival knife to learning what to carry in your family “go-bag”, you’ll find it here along with comments from our test team members that you can rely on.

Answers: Survival expert Tim MacWelch will be blogging and answering all of your survival questions. But we don’t want this to be a one-way conversation. Outdoor Life Survival is about sharing, so we welcome you to share your favorite survival stories, gear and tips through our answers tool and article comments box, so that we can all learn from each other.

Outdoor Life Survival has taken more than two years to design and develop. We think it’s pretty cool and we hope you do, too. But we’re always looking to make things better. So let us know what you think. We hope what you learn here is something you’ll never have to use. But if the worst happens, we want you to be prepared to face any survival situation head-on.

I just took time to read the "welcome to survival". Thank you I was lost because it looked like some of the posts on OL had disapeared. They had merely been moved here. The site is new and seems to be one that I will enjoy.

I agree with Bo, I'm looking forward to seeing this site developed. I like the range of issues you are focusing on. I also look forward to it being a site that I can visit with my 10 year old grandson, who is very much into wilderness survival.
