Frankenstorm Warning: Hurricane Safety Tips - 0

With Hurricane Sandy, aka: Frankenstorm, barreling down on the entire Eastern seaboard, now is a good time to review some commonsense hurricane safety tips. We've compiled our best survival tips below, so you can stay safe and ride out the storm.

More About Hurricane Sandy
Frankenstorm is the product of three major weather systems merging over the East coast. It is expected to bring high wind, heavy rain, extreme tides and even snow to states ranging from Florida to Maine. The Hurricane hit the Bahamas Friday morning, killing 21 people and knocking out power across the Caribbean.

The storm is expected to hit the New York City area on Tuesday and could linger until Thursday. The country's most populated area could see up to 5 inches of rain, snow, and 40 mph winds.

"We don't have many modern precedents for what the models are suggesting," said Jim Cisco, the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration forecaster.
